The Magic Chord

about

A beautiful, deeply coloured sunset unleashes the power of the night.
Almost an hour of continuous mesmerising ambient music.

The music is created by many layers (in this case, twenty layers) of electric guitar played with ebow. Each layer plays in a loop that swirls around in space. Each loop is a different length, so the music, while it never changes drastically, is never quite the same for the whole album.

The sound washes over you. Layers of guitars somehow start to sound like a heavenly choir in a thunder storm.

The title, The Magic Chord, is a reference to composer La Monte Young. The idea of recreating this magic chord, while not the end result of what I do, is the original inspiration for this project.
